A man who was fatally struck by a train near the Atherton Caltrain station on Saturday has been identified as Pooya Shahi, 33, of San Jose, according to the San Mateo County coroner's office.

Shahi was on the tracks just north of Fair Oaks Lane at around 1:20 a.m. when he was hit by southbound train No. 198, Caltrain spokeswoman
