Pet of the week

By Scott Delucchi, Peninsula Humane Society.

Meet Smee, a 13-pound, 1-year-old male poodle mix, available for adoption at the Peninsula Humane Society's Center for Compassion in Burlingame.

Some people look at him and think, "Aww, he's got just one eye." We call it a permanent wink, as that fits this spunky dog's personality.

He loves being outside with volunteers and staff, but can use some ongoing work on his doggie manners and "chattiness" while out on walks.

The ideal adopter will be one with previous dog experience who is willing to work on Smee's outside voice.

Smee can live with other dogs and small children but no cats. Need a bonus? He's giving all signs that he's housetrained.

The Center of Compassion is at 1450 Rollins Road in Burlingame. Go to www.phs-spca.org/ for more information.
