Woodside burglary cases: Jury selection to start today

Jury selection in a case involving a Redwood City man in connection with several 2013 burglaries, including three in Woodside, begins today (June 9) in a San Mateo County courtroom.

Charges against Justin Ralph Mitchell, 26, of Redwood City include three nighttime residential burglaries in Woodside, incidents in which the residents were at home and sleeping at the time of the burglaries, according to a report from District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.

Mr. Mitchell is also charged with five commercial burglaries and several cases of felony identity theft, prosecutors said.

Mr. Mitchell was on parole at the time of the alleged offenses, prosecutors said, adding that this is a second-strike case. He is in county jail on bail of $405,000.

The trial is expected to last three weeks, prosecutors said.
