Pet of the week: Chloe

By Scott Delucchi, Peninsula Humane Society.

The popularity of birds as pets is soaring. Meet Chloe, a sweet, 9-year old conure, available for adoption at the Peninsula Humane Society's Center for Compassion in Burlingame.

A conure is a type of small parrot that makes a great family pet. Chloe is a beautiful, multi-colored bird with a mix of silky green, white, and orange feathers.

Chloe is very social and enjoys meeting new people, although she can be a little cautious at first. She is a very vocal bird who loves to chirp happily in her cage and snack on fruits and vegetables. But don't let your kids sneak their veggies to her.

Visit our Center of Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road in Burlingame or go to www.phs-spca.org/.
