Saturday: Pride celebration

San Mateo County will host its second annual Pride Celebration on Saturday, June 14. The free event will feature music, entertainment and informational presentations on youth advocacy in schools, coming out, spirituality and support groups for those of diverse sexualities.

"It's important for the community to know that we are here for everyone" and that a wide range of county services are available, said Susan Takalo, Pride Initiative co-chair.

Held at San Mateo Central Park, located at 50 East 5th Ave. in San Mateo, the event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
