'Vibrant Places' art show

"New Friend, San Miguel de Allende" is the title of this pastel featured in "Vibrant Places," an exhibit of pastel and oil paintings of San Miguel de Allende, Sedona and California by Jan Prisco of San Mateo.

The exhibit is at the Portola Art Gallery in Menlo Park during August.

A reception for the artist will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4.

The gallery is located in the Allied Arts Guild at 75 Arbor Road in Menlo Park.
