Diane Honda, a Menlo Park attorney, has filed papers to run for a seat on the Las Lomitas School District board.
She and Ladera resident Bill Steinmetz are the only two candidates so far for the two open board seats. Unless someone else turns in papers before the filing period closes Wednesday, Aug. 15, there will be no contest.
Ms. Honda could not be reached for comment. Mr. Steinmetz, a retired attorney, is the father of three daughters, all of whom attend district schools.
The filing period was extended from Aug. 10 to Aug. 15 because the two incumbents, Maria Doktorczyk and John Macdonald, are not running for re-election.
