Assemblyman sponsored recycling and waste-disposal bills

State Assemblyman Rich Gordon, D-Menlo Park, has a shiny new title: "Recycling Legislator of the Year." He shares the honor with state Senator Alex Padilla, D-San Fernando Valley.

The award, sponsored by Californians Against Waste, reflects Mr. Gordon's success in authoring two bills -- AB 1149 and AB 525 -- last year that provided incentives for state manufactures to re-use plastic and to stop using landfills for tire disposals.

"The importance of recycling and living more sustainably is critical now more than ever," Mr. Gordon said in a statement. "I applaud Californians Against Waste in their ongoing leadership and being on the forefront of reducing waste and promoting recycling in California."

Oh, when I read the headline I thought he was being commended for recycling the same moronic ideas of his other fellow Spendocrats and running California into bankruptcy.

There are no words to describe this self promoting, inept and really ambitious and ineffective who is not even liked within his minority community for his politics and past performance as a supervisor.

When I read the headline I was hoping it was the start of a campaign to recycle the assembly seat Mr. Gordon holds. Oh well, wishful thinking.
