School district races not contested

There will be no contests for two open seats each on the Las Lomitas and Menlo Park City school district boards, with only two candidates filing papers in each race.

The filing deadline for the Las Lomitas district was extended to Aug. 15. By the end of the extended period, only two candidates had filed: Bill Steinmetz, a retired attorney from Ladera; and Diane Honda, a Menlo Park attorney.

The filing period for the Menlo Park City district closed last Friday. No one but incumbents Maria Hilton and Jeff Child filed papers.

Thank you to Bill and Diane for stepping up to help govern our school District. We are lucky to have passionate and engaged parents on the Board.
