"California Native Plants as an Alternative to Lawns" comes to Menlo Park on Saturday (Aug. 18).
The free workshop will teach attendees how to landscape with native Californian plants, lower their water bills and how to participate in the "Lawn Be Gone" rebate program. The program reimburses residential and commercial customers $500 to $3,000 for converting their lawns into water-efficient landscapes.
Registration in advance is required to attend since space is limited.
