All lanes reopened on U.S. 101
|
Traffic in both directions was disrupted for about 45 minutes on U.S. Highway 101 in Redwood City this morning after phone lines fell across the roadway, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
At about 10:15 a.m., the CHP was notified of lines down in the north- and southbound directions of the freeway between Marsh and Woodside roads, CHP Officer Ralph Caggiano said.
Traffic was stopped as crews cleared the cables from the roadway, Caggiano said.
The lanes were reopened shortly after 11 a.m.
Initially, the cables on the ground were thought to be power lines, and PG&E crews were called to the scene.
No injuries were reported.— Bay City News Service Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.
