Menlo College scored on every possession of the second half to turn a tie game into a rout Saturday, beating host Pomona Pitzer, 41-13, in a nonconference football game.

Six different players scored for the Oaks (2-1), who host Occidental next Saturday at noon in their home opener.

Brandon Bell rushed for 84 yards and scored a touchdown and Matthias Pelasasa passed for 116 yards, on 9 of 11 passing, and a 47-yard touchdown to Robert Adan to lead Menlo. Michael Alexander, Jake Fohn and Vince Snyder also scored rushing touchdowns and Daniel Stevenson caught a seven-yard scoring toss from Erik Peterson.

The Sagehens scored late in the first quarter and the Oaks tied it with 3:48 remaining in the first half.

Alexander's 42-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter put Menlo ahead to stay and helped the Oaks net 34 unanswered points.

Menlo limited the Pomona Pitzer offense to 73 yards in the second half. Marcus Alvin led the Oaks with 10 tackles, and was credited with 1 1/2 sacks.

Palo Alto grad Alistair Thompson, who transferred to Pomona Pitzer from Villanova, made his collegiate debut in the contest.
