Tonight: Talk on next quake in Bay Area

Tom Brocher, director of the U.S. Geological Survey Earthquake Science Center, will give a talk Wednesday, Oct. 3, in Portola Valley on lessons learned from the San Francisco and Loma Prieta earthquakes and what to expect when the big one hits.

The program runs from 7 to 8 p.m. at The Sequoias, 501 Portola Road.

Because of the presidential debate (from 6:00 to 7:30), Tom Brocher's talk at the Sequoias in Portola Valley will begin at 7:45.
