Today: Natural gas venting near Woodside
|
PG&E said it will be venting natural gas in the area of Canada and Edgewood roads near Woodside this afternoon as part of ongoing work to improve the safety of its gas transmission lines.
Customers in the area may smell gas and hear the sound of it venting, PG&E spokesman Joe Molica said.
The gas will dissipate quickly into the atmosphere, and is not harmful, he said. However, anyone with concerns about natural gas odors in or around a home or business is encouraged to call at (800) 743-5000 so PG&E can determine the cause.
Gas service to customers will not be affected by today's work, he said.
