Body of second missing fisherman found
|
The body of a second fisherman missing from a boat that capsized off the San Mateo County coast on Sunday was found on a local beach Tuesday afternoon, a sheriff's spokeswoman said.
A large group of family members had been searching an area of shoreline about a quarter-mile north of the Pigeon Point Light Station when they found the body of 56-year-old Ping Yau Tsang at about 4:05 p.m., San Mateo County sheriff's spokeswoman Rebecca Rosenblatt said.
Tsang was one of four San Francisco fishermen on board an 18-foot Striper that left a marina near Candlestick Park at about 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, Rosenblatt said.
A large wave capsized the boat about a mile off the coast at around 10:30 a.m., sending all four men into the water.
Two were wearing life vests and were able to swim to shore and report the incident.
Tsang and 62-year-old Carl Deng were not wearing life vests, Rosenblatt said. Deng's body was found Monday by a volunteer search party combing the beach north of Pigeon Point.
There was no immediate word of memorial services for the two men.
