Police investigate two homicides

Police are investigating two fatal shootings that occurred three blocks apart in East Palo Alto on Friday night.

At 11:13 p.m., police responded to reports of gunshots detected in the 300 block of Azalia Drive in East Palo Alto. Officers found 24-year-old East Palo Alto resident Lonnie Brown suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Earlier Friday night, East Palo Alto police responded to a homicide that took place about three blocks away. Gunshots were detected in the 2200 block of Terra Villa Avenue at 8:20 p.m.

Upon arrival, police found Christopher Baker, 21, of East Palo Alto suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shootings remain under investigation, police said.

East Palo Alto police asks anyone who may have witnessed the shootings or has knowledge of the incidents to contact police at (650) 321-1112 or by sending an anonymous text or leaving an anonymous voicemail at (650) 409-6792.
