The public is invited to get personal finance questions answered for free at the Silicon Valley Financial Planning Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 505 East Charleston Road in Palo Alto.

About 40 certified financial planners will meet with people and answer questions, said Gary Rousselo, a spokesperson for the event. There will be presentations on topics such as investing, taxes and saving for retirement.
