Wednesday: 'English Flowers Abloom' benefit

Flower arranger Carolyn Barnes will re-create five prize-winning arrangements from this year's Chelsea Flower Show at a benefit for the Elizabeth F. Gamble Garden to be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Freidenrich Conference Center at the Oshman Jewish Community Center, Charleston Road and Fabian Way in Palo Alto.
There will be a silent auction for the arrangements with vases. Ms. Barnes will present a short photo overview of the Chelsea Flower Show.
An "English Breakfast Tea," including homemade scones with jam and butter, egg tartlets, fruit tartlets, tea and coffee will be served at 9:30 a.m.
Advance tickets, at $30 for members and $35 for others, may be purchased by calling 329-1356.
