Police calls: Two Menlo Park liquor stores targeted

MENLO PARK
Commercial burglary report: Losses estimated at $8,400 in break-in through glass door and theft of approximately seven half-cases (42 bottles) of red wine, Beltramo's Wine and Spirits at 1540 El Camino Real, Oct. 22.
Theft reports:
■ Loss estimated at $1,000 in theft by cutting cable of locked bicycle from enclosed apartment carport, Roble Ave., Oct. 23.
■ Losses estimated at $800 in theft of bicycle from carport, Waverley St., Oct. 20.
■ Losses estimated at $400 in theft of three bottles of wine by two suspects seen leaving the scene in black Toyota Camry, Sharon Heights Wine & Liquor at 325 Sharon Park Drive, Oct. 19.
■ Loss estimated at $400 in possible theft of cell phone, Willow Road, Oct. 23.
■ Losses estimated at $250 in theft of two pairs of eye-glasses, motorcycle helmet and helmet cover, Menlo Ave., Oct. 23.
■ Loss estimated at $105 in theft of pair of running shoes from porch, Wallea Drive, Oct. 25.
Battery report: Man, 37, hit woman, 31, in head with paper bag containing food leftovers as she tried to break up fight between her Great Dane and his mixed breed dog, the instigator; no injuries and man walked away, Middle Ave., Oct. 24.
Fraud report: Losses of $470 from two unauthorized debit card purchases, Hermosa Way, Oct. 25.

B Residential burglary reports:==
■ Losses estimated at $5,500 in theft from garage of chrome-and-blue Cinelli SC bicycle and brown Gucci bag, Selby Lane, Oct. 20.
■ Losses estimated at $2,240 in theft from pool house of laptop computer, computer charger and cords, black-and-yellow helmet camera, chrome wristwatch with brown leather strap, and black workout bag, Selby Lane, Oct. 20.
Theft reports:
■ Losses estimated at $798 in theft of two Apple iPods, Selby Lane, Oct. 21.
■ Loss estimated at $71 in theft from unlocked vehicle of red hooded sweatshirt emblazoned with "Canada" on front and single dollar bill, Selby Lane, Oct. 20.
■ Loss estimated at $1 in theft of one black garbage bag from unlocked vehicle, Serrano Drive, Oct. 19.

WOODSIDE
Burglary report: Losses estimated at $1,250 in theft of Apple iPhone and white-metal ring, Woodside High School at 199 Churchill Ave., Oct. 21.

The fifth bullet on the Atherton Police Blog gave me a good laugh ! The Canadian sweatshirt and the $1 was also funny .. Time for APD to get back their usual tasks of rounding up the illegal drivers .. now I salute them for that !

I would be embarrased (as a police officer) to commit these losses above to paper from residents of one of the wealthiest towns on the planet..
