Menlo Park police are calling in a helicopter to help search for a 200-pound Hispanic man dressed in black in an ongoing manhunt this afternoon (Thursday).
Driving a stolen car near the Facebook campus, the suspect crashed a green Honda Accord into a police car and then fled on foot. Police spokesperson Nicole Acker said officers have set up a perimeter around Carlton and Hamilton avenues, Ivy Drive and Willow Road.
Aiding the search: East Bay Regional Park's helicopter, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office and Palo Alto police.
An anonymous Facebook employee wryly suggested that if spotted on campus, a man in black would likely be suspected of being an Apple software engineer carrying out a covert operation.
Residents have been asked to stay indoors and to call 330-6300 with any information about the incident.
