Menlo Park author Joseph McNamara, a former San Jose police chief, will discuss and sign his novel, "Love and Death in Silicon Valley," at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Kepler's bookstore, 1010 El Camino Real in Menlo Park.
