Last day: Toys from the past
|
A Lionel train set, G-man fingerprint set, 1929 electric stove and oven, and a "Miss Friday" mechanical doll, are among the toys from the Harry P. Costa collection on display at the San Mateo County History Museum through Dec. 30.
Mr. Costa collected toys from the 1920s to 1970s and displayed them at his stationery store on San Mateo Avenue in San Bruno.
The history museum exhibit, "Playing Grown-up: Toys from the Harry P. Costa Collection," focuses on toys that allowed children to mimic the activity of adults.
The museum is located at 2200 Broadway in downtown Redwood City within the old 1910 courthouse. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and students, and free for children 5 and under.
Visit www.historysmc.org for more information about the museum.
