Sheriff's deputies have apprehended the man reported walking in Woodside and with a shovel, according to an updated community alert emailed at around 5 p.m. today (Dec. 12).

Bay City News reported that the 23-year-old man had assaulted a relative with the shovel earlier today in the area of 150 Wildwood Way, Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Rebecca Rosenblatt said.

He then left the scene and the Sheriff's Office warned the public that he may be dangerous, but he was located this afternoon.

Sheriff's deputies are continuing to investigate the incident.

The Sheriff's Office had described the man as "armed with a shovel and is presumed dangerous."
