Woodside resident claims $225,000 missing from investment account
|
A Woodside resident living on Tripp Road is claiming losses of about $225,000 from three unauthorized transfers out of an account with brokerage and banking company Charles Schwab Corp., according to a March 1 report from the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.
The resident said he looked in his personal email account and discovered unauthorized messages in his name making requests to his Schwab financial planner to transfer the funds, deputies said. Records at Schwab show transfers of $45,000, $30,000 and $150,000, deputies said.
The resident said that he was advised by the security division at Schwab to file a report with local police, deputies said.
