Man pursues robbers, retrieves money
Two arrested after robbery at Willow Road gas station

A man who was robbed of $20 at a Menlo Park gas station Thursday pursued the suspects, retrieved the money, and then led police to their vehicle, where the two were arrested, police reported.
Shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday, March 7, the man was at the Chevron gas station at 1399 Willow Road paying for gas at the cashier's window when two men walked up to him and grabbed a $20 bill from his hand, Menlo Park police said.
There was a brief struggle and the suspects fled on foot, said Officer Allen Swanson in a news release. The man got in his car and caught up with them a half block away. The suspects returned the money and fled in a vehicle, Mr. Swanson said.
The man pursued the vehicle into East Palo Alto and called 911. Police found the vehicle and arrested the occupants.
Police identified the suspects as Warner Travis, 18, of Menlo Park and Jeffrey Thames, 21, of San Francisco. They were booked into the San Mateo County jail on charges of robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Tired of these young kids thinking that the only way to survive is to rob, steal and kill...My comments to the criminals...go back to school and earn an education to help yourself do better and inspire others young men in your community to do the same.
If this does not open your eyes to the fact that citizens in your area are tired of the crime rates, and are standing up to you to bring safety back into their communities, then nothing but jail or the grave will tell you..

But we have such a complacent, sheep like mentality in this country now, that we sit around and wait for someone else to help when something bad happens.
That guy did the right thing. I for one am not going to sit around and wait for the police if someone is trying to do harm to me.
9/11 could have been prevented if people weren't so damn scared, and lulled into complacency by the police. What would have happend if they had rushed the terrorists armed with plastic forks and box cutters? Some people would have gotten some minor cuts? No, instead you had planes with 200-300 people on them, who allowed 4-5 guys to fly them into a building. If people had fought back, they would never have gotten control of those planes.
Our country used to be a nation of frontier people who didn't need to rely on anyone for anything, now we are more like the Romans shortly before the empire fell.
I'd rather die on my feet, than live on my knees.

I'm so excited to read that there is still some spirit and gumption in otherwise politically correct Menlo Park. Two against one has always been a "neighbor's" fun, as in "whassup ma neighba". Most robbers are opportunists. Robbers and citizens need to be alert.

No wonder our country's homicide rate is through the ceiling. It's those red-blooded "men."
