Today: Three to be inducted into Hall of Fame
|
Three local women leaders -- Congresswoman Anna Eshoo, former Assemblywoman Fiona Ma, and former San Mateo County supervisor Rose Jacobs Gibson -- will be inducted into the San Mateo County Women's Hall of Fame at a reception and museum exhibit launch at 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 22, at the San Mateo County History Museum in Redwood City.
For 29 years, the ceremony has been presented by the Board of Supervisors and the Commission on the Status of Women. The Hall of Fame will now have a permanent home at the history museum with a continuing digital exhibit that will incorporate past acceptance speeches, historical context, and updates on honorees, according to Christine Padilla, president of the Commission on the Status of Women.
The museum is at the old courthouse at 2200 Broadway in Redwood City.
