| James Goldgeier, senior fellow with the Council on Foreign Relations and professor of political science at George Washington University, will discuss foreign affairs in the years between 11/9/89, when the Berlin Wall fell, and 9/11/01, when the World Trade Center fell, at the kick-off meeting of the World Affairs Council of Northern California on Sunday, Sept. 28, at 3 p.m., at 75 Tuscaloosa Avenue in Atherton.
Mr. Goldgeier, who has served as foreign affairs officer at the State Department and the National Security Council, will focus on how the lack of priority for foreign policy in the years between these events is shaping the election debates and the agenda for the next president.
Stephen Krasner, senior fellow at Stanford's Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies and professor of international relations, will moderate.
Check-in is at 2:30 p.m. for the event. The program will be followed by a reception at 4:30 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for World Affairs Council members, $5 for students, and $15 for non-members.
