Uncertainty drove deputies to unholster their guns
|
Residents of the 100 block of Ramona Road in the Los Trancos Woods neighborhood may have seen deputies from the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office converging on a house with guns out of holsters on Wednesday, June 3.
The deputies had their guns were out because the resident they were investigating was known to own registered guns, Sgt. Art Martinez of the Sheriff's Office said.
The person's employer also claimed the resident "may (be) unstable," Sgt. Martinez said.
"They were going into the unknown," Sgt. Martinez said of the deputies.
It turned out that the resident wasn't home.

Now isn't that what the media is supposed to do?
