Little League 10-11 all-stars: Alpine-West Menlo enters title game Tuesday in San Carlos

One more victory separates the Alpine/West Menlo Little League all-stars from the championship of the District 52 10-11 tournament. Alpine put itself in that position with a 4-2 victory over San Carlos on Friday (July 2) at North Highland Field in San Carlos.
Alpine advances to the title game at 6 p.m. Tuesday (July 7) at Arguello Field, at Wellington Drive and Phillips Road, off of San Carlos Avenue in San Carlos.
Alpine and San Carlos each scored twice in the first inning and battled scorelessly until Alpine scored single runs in the fifth and sixth.
Travis Jones produced the eventual winning run when his sacrifice fly in the fifth scored Matt Hennefarth.
Alpine added an insurance run in the sixth when Grace Baker singled in pinch-runner Nick Stoner.
