Menlo Park Mayor Heyward Robinson plans to hold an informal "meet the mayor" event at the Menlo Park Farmers' Market on Sunday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. to noon. The market is in the parking lot next to Trader Joe's.

Mr. Robinson said he wanted to give residents a chance to chat with him and ask questions before the end of his year-long term as mayor in December (the position rotates among council members).

The farmers' market has been a hub of political activity lately, with farmers' market founders and downtown business interests campaigning against preliminary long-term plans by the city for the downtown area.
