Fundraiser for Christian college in Bethlehem
|
Martha Meyer of Atherton is chairman of a fundraising Middle Eastern dinner to be held from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, to raise money for Dar al Kalima College in Bethlehem. The event is hosted by Grace Lutheran Church, 3149 Waverley St. in Palo Alto, which hopes to raise $50,000 for a new music practice room for the school, says Ms. Meyer.
The evening will include a catered dinner by Dishdash restaurant in Sunnyvale, Middle Eastern music and dancing, and both silent and live auctions.
Dar al Kalima College is one of the few Christian colleges in Palestine and is open to Christian, Muslim and Jewish students.
Serving with Ms. Meyer on the benefit committee are these Menlo Park and Atherton residents: Craig Cornelius, Ann Hadden Cornelius, Mary Gundelach, and Linda Hendrickson.
Tickets to the Middle Eastern dinner are $40. For more information, call Ms. Meyer, 854-7228.
