 | Taylor Eigsti, a Woodside Priory graduate and jazz pianist, will return to his alma mater to join three other acclaimed pianists for a concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5.
Pianists Susan Muscarella, Larry Vuckovich, and Denny Zeitlin will also perform, along with bassist Peter Barshay and drummer Akira Tana.
Titled "Piano Summit III: The Richness and Beauty of Modern Jazz Piano," the concert is the third such piano summit sponsored by the Palo Alto Jazz Alliance and hosted by the alliance's founder, Herb Wong of Menlo Park.
Mr. Wong has been an important mentor of Mr. Eigsti, who performed in the first summit in 1997, when he was only 12 years old.
Mr. Eigsti, who grew up in Menlo Park, is also a composer and bandleader. Now 24, he has issued a number of recordings, and has garnered two Grammy nominations.
The concert will be in the Priory's Rothrock Performance Hall, 302 Portola Road in Portola Valley.
Tickets are $30 for general admission, $25 for Palo Alto Jazz Alliance members, and $10 for students. For information on purchasing tickets, call 345-9543, or e-mail harvey.mittler@myastound.net
