The Magnificat Baroque Ensemble will perform the music of Chiara Margarita Cozzolani in a recreation of a Midnight Mass from 17th century Milan at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at St. Patrick's Seminary in Menlo Park.

In addition to the Mass, Magnificat will perform five of her motets and traditional Gregorian chant.

Sister Cozzolani was a Benedictine nun who wrote music of the Baroque period. Her four musical publications appeared between 1640 and 1650. Only two of her works survive complete.

Magnificat is an ensemble of voices and instruments specializing in music from the 17th century.
