Sand Hill Road reopens after gas main break
|
A portion of Sand Hill Road in San Mateo County near Woodside was closed briefly this afternoon due to a gas main break.
The break was reported at about 3 p.m. on Sand Hill Road between Whiskey Hill and Portola roads.
PG&E spokesman Joe Molica said a third-party contractor accidentally dug into a roughly 1-inch gas line, causing it to rupture.
No PG&E customers had their gas service affected by the break.
"Our crews are on site and they're working to stop the flow of gas," Molica said at about 3:50 p.m.
Sand Hill Road was shut down as a precaution but reopened at 3:54 p.m., a sheriff's dispatcher said.
