Sunday: Businesses hold fundraisers for Haiti
|
Several Menlo Park businesses will hold fundraisers on Sunday, March 14, to aid reconstruction efforts in Haiti, according to the Silicon Valley Action Network.
Cedro Ristorante (1010 El Camino Real) will hold a pancake breakfast from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. that day, with all profits going to nonprofits in Haiti. A portion of purchases made between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on March 14 at the following businesses will also go to the relief effort: Cafe Borrone, Cafe Zoe, Ann's Coffee Shop, the British Bankers Club, Ela Lingerie, and Cheeky Monkey toys.
Money raised will be split evenly between Partners in Health, which has run health clinics in Haiti for over 20 years, and Whirlwind Wheelchairs International, which is providing "all-terrain wheelchairs" to people who lost limbs in the earthquake.
