By Bay City News Service

A mountain lion was spotted Friday night (June 25) in an unincorporated area of San Mateo County, according to the Office of Emergency Services.

The cat was seen at about 9:50 p.m. near Lakeview Way and Woodland Place in the Emerald Lake Hills neighborhood.

Residents are advised not to approach mountain lions, and to try to appear large and make noise if one is nearby. The cats are most active at dawn, dusk and at night.

We keep reading about mountain lion sightings. And we are becoming desensitized to them. At one point In the future, someone will be attacked. And its then that everyone will say "why didn't we do something?"

I love animals. But I love people more.

We need to act and have the sheriffs department shoot, trap, and kill mountain lions that are entering residential areas.
