Christopher Hitchens diagnosed with cancer

Journalist and author Christopher Hitchens, who canceled an appearance at Kepler's Books in Menlo Park scheduled for Sunday, June 27, has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer.
"I have been advised by my physician that I must undergo a course of chemotherapy on my esophagus," Mr. Hitchens wrote Wednesday, June 30, in a posting on the Vanity Fair website. "This advice seems persuasive to me. I regret having to had to cancel so many engagements at such short notice."
"Hitch-22: a memoir", Mr. Hitchens' latest book which came out June 2, is currently number 15 on the New York Times bestseller list for hardcover nonfiction.
