Tag team suspected in Woodside burglary

This is an update to a recent story.
Authorities are looking for a man who posed as an employee of the California Department of Transportation at the front door of a Woodside home while a partner secretly burgled the home through an unlocked sliding door on Friday, Feb. 25.
The Caltrans poser told the resident that he wanted to check the house's backyard for storm damage and indications of a landslide, according to an account of the incident from the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office by Lt. Ray Lunny.
When the resident, a man, asked the poser for identification, he "became nervous and left the area in a newer silver or gray SUV type vehicle," Lt. Lunny said.
While the resident did not report seeing a second suspect, he did report hearing the poser call out the name Steve as he was leaving, Lt. Lunny said.
A search revealed women's jewelry -- three silver necklaces and two watches -- missing from the master bedroom, Lt. Lunny said.
Authorities are describing the man who came to the door as having olive skin, "big" brown eyes, clean shaven, heavy set and 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was wearing a yellow hard hat, a dark blue jacket with gold lettering or initials on the left breast.

Probably will have to have a privately paid force in the more affluent areas.
Times are rough for most people who are in the middle and lower classes....even the very rich........I would not recommend stocking up on weapons (pocket Derringers for the ladies and Lugers for the older guys)......None of you who have costly jewelry are not silly enough to have expensive items in a house safe....NOT MEN(g) but almost everyone keeps cash and that is appealing to home robberies.
It is not a pleasant experience and a police official seems to think home crimes are going to increase. PREPARE.
