Portola Valley: Mountain lion spotted Monday night
|
A resident of Portola Valley spotted a mountain lion heading toward Portola Green Circle in the Brookside Park neighborhood at about 9:25 p.m. on Monday, April 11, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's deputies checked the area where the lion was reported to have crossed a road.
In mountain lion encounters, experts recommend standing your ground, staying calm, and making yourself look as large as possible.
The lion may just be curious, they say, so give it a chance to leave and don't antagonize it, but look around for possible weapons you can use in the event of an attack.

THE REDWOOD CITY KILLING WAS JUST A TESTIMONY THAT THESE GUYS ARE WIMPS AND UNTRAINED WITH ANIMALS. IT DID NOT NEED TO BE KILLED. i mean come on six against one loaded with dart guns!

Tranq's take time to take effect and medicated animals are unpredictable and more dangerous. It will only be a matter to time until a child is taken by the cats that can not be re-located.
