"The Kiss" to highlight WWII memories weekend

 | On Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 13 and 14, from noon to 5 p.m. an event in San Jose will honor veterans of World War II, including a convoy of contemporary military vehicles and a 6-foot bronze statue of "The Kiss," the famous photo of a sailor kissing a nurse in Times Square on the day the war ended.
Edith Shain, the nurse in the photo and an active campaigner for the Spirit of '45, will be given a tribute and dedication at Kelley Park at 1650 Senter Road in San Jose.
The weekend will include live big band music, swing dancing, a 1940's era flea market, a car show, exhibits and children's activities.
