Deputies from the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office are looking in Portola Valley and Woodside for a burglary suspect described as white, 5 feet 8 inches tall with a shaved head and wearing a blue shirt, blue pants and white shoes, according to a Sheriff's Office alert.

The man fled during a traffic stop at Portola and La Honda roads shortly before 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12. He ran away toward the west, deputies said.

Deputies are advising caution to anyone who encounters someone matching this description. "Do not approach or try to apprehend subject," the statement says. Call 911 immediately, deputies said.
