Carole Hansen Lusebrink

After a prolonged illness, Carole Hansen Lusebrink died on Aug. 23, 2012, in Davis, Calif. She was born in Provo, Utah, on Dec. 2, 1929, and is the daughter of George H. and Afton Allred Hansen. After graduating from Lincoln High School and Brigham Young University, Carole taught Home Economics in Richland, Wash., where she met William Nels "Bill" Lusebrink of Walnut Creek, Calif. They were married in Provo on Jan. 26, 1953. After living in Washington, they moved to California in 1958 and settled in Palo Alto in 1961, where Bill worked for Stanford University. They lived in the same Palo Alto home for 43 years. Carole and Bill are known for their hospitality. To quote a niece, Christa Hansen, "Everyone should have an Aunt Carole and Uncle Bill to count on for warm welcomes, great food and generous hearts." Preceding Carole in death are her two brothers, Don and Alan Hansen. Carole is survived by her sister, Helen Warnock; her devoted husband, Bill; their son, Karl, and daughter-in-law, Rita; their son, Glen, and daughter-in-law, Jody, and their three children, Torin, Alina and Jasper.

A memorial celebrating Carole's life will take place in the auditorium at The University Retirement Community in Davis, Calif., on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 3 p.m. Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Hills in Provo, Utah, at a date to be announced.
