Participants will run or walk a 2.5K single loop (non-timed) or a 5K (professionally timed) double loop on flat residential streets. Walkers, strollers, teachers and families are invited to participate. Bikes, skates and dogs have to stay home, though, organizers say.
The event is a fundraiser for the Oak Knoll PTO, and is organized by a team of parent volunteers.
Participants receive an official Otter Run race T-shirt, and there will be medals for winners by age category.
People may register in person at Oak Knoll School on Friday, June 4, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., or 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.; or on race day, starting at 7 a.m. Registration fees are $25 for adults and $15 for kids 18 and under. Food and drinks are provided after the race.
