Around Town: Wine with roses at Filoli

Nine Northern California wineries will provide tastings at Filoli's "Wine with Roses" event from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at the historic site in Woodside. The wineries represented are Thomas Fogarty, Ridge, Frog's Leap, Martella, Cannonball, Storr's, Bonny Doon, Ashe, and Elizabeth Spencer. After wine and hors d'oeuvres in the garden, the vintners' wines will accompany a sit-down dinner.

A variety of raffle prizes, including many from local merchants and restaurants, will be announced during dessert. Tickets are $110 for members, $125 for others. Visit www.filoli.org for more information.

Open space forum

Kings Mountain Association hosts an evening of discussion regarding local open space from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, at the Kings Mountain Community Center/Firehouse at 13889 Skyline Blvd. There will be presentations by the Peninsula Open Space Trust and the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, followed by questions.

Summer concert

The city of Menlo Park's free summer concerts are staged from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. each Wednesday through Aug. 11 at Fremont Park, located at Santa Cruz Avenue and University Drive in downtown Menlo Park. Fito Reinoso performs Cuban/salsa music on July 21 and The Conternders perform classic rock on July 28. For more information, call 330-2200.
