The buildings would exceed the 35-foot height limit, thus the project requires a conditional use permit. The city has also decided the proposal needs an environmental impact report before proceeding.
Also on the agenda: a mid-year update of cost recovery for the Belle Haven after-school program. Earlier this year, the city had proposed merging the program with the Boys & Girls Club of the Peninsula, an option that was greeted with protest by parents. Now staff is reviewing cost-cutting measures and fundraising efforts by the community.
This week brings a change in location for the council meeting — it starts at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the Menlo Park Senior Center, located at 110 Terminal Ave. in Menlo Park.
