Family Service Announces Holidays on a High Note & Jazzy Preview Party

Original post made by Katherine Chouteau on Aug 31, 2007

On Monday, October 15th, 2007 from 9:30 AM-2:00 PM, flowers will help struggling Peninsula families when the Foothill Auxiliary to Family Service Agency of San Mateo County hosts its 10th annual "Holidays on a High Note" home entertaining benefit at the Menlo Circus Club, 190 Park Lane, Atherton. The annual sell-out event features a special presentation by celebrated San Francisco floral designer Jun Piñon, stunning holiday table settings and festive floral presentations from the Bay Area's best designers, as well as a boutique marketplace. Tickets are $85.00 per person, including lunch. Advance reservations are required.

Preceding Monday's Holidays on a High Note luncheon event will be a Jazzy Preview Party on Sunday, October 14th from 6:00 PM-9:00 PM also at the Menlo Circus Club. Co-hosted by Family Service's Foothill and Valley Auxiliaries with Jennifer Pollack and Betty Ann Reinhardt as co-chairs, and featuring a 1920's theme, partygoers will be treated to advance peeks at the Holidays on a High Note floral and table displays, a cocktail buffet, silent auction of fabulous goodies including a five-night trip to the Four Seasons Hualalai in Hawaii, and wine tastings courtesy of Burrell School Vineyards & Winery, Fernwood Cellars, Ridge Vineyards, and Sarah's Vineyards, as well as other Northern California vineyards. Live jazz music will be provided by Jim Pollack & Friends, featuring Chuck Huggins. Advance reservations are required. Tickets to Sunday's Jazzy Preview Party are $125.00 per person, with a $15.00 discount for guests purchasing tickets to both events.

All proceeds from ticket sales, auctions, and 20% of boutique sales benefit Family Service, a San Mateo non-profit dedicated to helping improve the lives of struggling children, families and seniors on the Peninsula.

Throughout the pre-holiday Holidays on a High Note extravaganza, numerous Peninsula-based businesses will showcase their specialties including local favorites including Devoy Designs of Atherton, Pomegranate Events and Floral Design of Woodside, and many more. Beringer Vineyards and Southern Wine & Spirits of Northern California will provide wine for the luncheon, while longtime supporter See's Candies will delight guests with their delectable chocolates.

Co-chaired by Foothill Auxiliary members Kris Forbes and Andi Mallinckrodt, Holidays on a High Note will feature approximately 25 tables showcasing extraordinary holiday home entertaining ideas and floral arrangements, some up for auction. Last year, the popular fundraiser raised $20,000 for Family Service with approximately 250 attendees. This special 10th anniversary year marks the return of the Jazzy Preview Party.

Tickets are on sale now. For tickets, an invitation, or for more info please call Vivienne Virani, 650-473-0645. For more information on Family Service, please call 650-403-4300 or visit www.familyserviceagency.org.
