Editorial: Facing the challenge of rising tides

Original post made on Feb 6, 2008

Getting your arms around global warming is not easy. The more we learn about the energy-guzzling sins of our past, the more we realize there will be hell to pay down the road — but no one knows for sure when that will be.

It may be fact that the earth is warming...however, its only theory that it is human caused, and a total mystery if we can do anything about it.

oh yeah...and water is its smallest at 4 deg. C. it also gets bigger as it freezes, Mr. Elementary science guy...

Maybe the ice caps are getting bigger and all of the bodies of dead baby seals and polar bears are weighing them down..displacing more ocean and making the water rise.

How about we come up with alternative fuels and methods because it is the right thing to do to conserve our resources for strategic and moral reasons rather than mandate this and tax that and legislate something else and cause panic over something based on suspect theories and political agendas and out of work ex-vice presidents who don't have the internet to work on anymore?

Having the government push something based on conjured up "facts" never helped anyone.

Hey, dude - Has anyone mentioned to you that the name with which you've chosen to identify yourself fits perfectly with the apparent depth of understanding revealed in your posts?

It would be nice if all the government buildings were to go under water soon. I can just see the unionized bureaucrats sitting around watching the water rise over their heads while they wait for the federal busses to come and carry them to safety!

Joe,

How is my understanding flawed? You give no substance to your comment. Doesn't that make you guilty of what you are accusing me of?

Tell me that Man's carbon output is the cause of all things catastrophic. Go ahead, I'm sure you're the authority that can make me believe.

Dude - My apologies. I didn't give my impressions sufficient time and so am guilty of an inadequate depth of understanding myself.
