"Pave Paradise and put up a Parking Lot." That's a fine lesson for our children, chop down that 200 year old Valley Oak and put in a parking lot! You go School Board. We love all the desecration of things dear and beautiful to our children and community.

The school board has set Thursday, May 8, as the date of a special meeting for the adoption of the "negative declaration," the environmental study of the Oak Knoll campus plans. It is tentatively set for 7 p.m. at Oak Knoll School.

The final document will include the 13 comment letters and responses to the issues raised.

The board must vote to adopt the negative declaration in order for the project to move forward.
