Can someone please tell me about the Fair Oaks neighborhood?

Original post made by Julie on Apr 1, 2009

My husband and I are thinking of moving to the area near the intersection of 5th Ave and Semicircular. Could you please tell us what you think about this area? Safety, ambiance, etc. How does it differ from Belle Haven? Please let me know your comments, postive and negative. I need information to make an informed choice.

Nice residential areas, friendly people, lousy public schools, unfortunately.

Too many cars! Cars are parked everywhere, hazard to kids riding bikes etc. And yes, public schools are not quality, and it is too bad.
