CORONER'S ELECTION QUESTION

Original post made by R.GORDON, another community, on Jun 11, 2010

It seems to me and, others as well, that the topic of the election of our COUNTY CORONER is still a little reported or covered topic here on the Peninsula.
I am aware of the re-election of Fourcault defeating Nevares but there was not much coverage considering practically EVERY citizen on the Peninsula, may one day be NOT be staring into his eyes.
After rereading the CUELA appeal and asking a couple of questions, among which I asked salary, and requirement for the position, I DID get the answer on only one.
"To be coroner, the only prerequisite is that he or she be 18 years of age".........THAT was enlightening in itself and breathtaking at the same time.
The salary, I still cannot locate even going through our complex salary breakdown and access to how much employees like Supervisors and Planning Commissioners make and also the CORONER.
The Cuela case still is just opening like a steaming clam among the people I have sent the little information I could get from all of the news services as far the story was covered.
All this opened because I am curious about CORONER'S information which quickly gets pushed aside.
DR. G MEDICAL EXAMINER has a complete account and am anxious to see if this story will make it to the show, if 60 MINUTES doesn't grab A MISSING HEART story.

Well, I have to say that I feel special in order to have warranted a PERSONAL response from Warren Slocum's office about how to check the salaries of paid employees in every position.
ALL I wanted was the CORONER'S salary and qualifications which I thought I would be able to get here, but NO LUCK.
The response is the way I am used to being treated in business or even any other paper from the LA TIMES to THE SAN JOSE MERCURY to the LONDON TIMES.......but Warren Slocum no less.
Should he or a member of his staff be paid to do that when it would have been for free here? Maybe not accurate....but free.

In my newest question, I mentioned CUELA where I was referring to the 23 year old NICHOLAS PICON, who died suddenly and whose heart was not returned to his family for burial.
A lawsuit began and his mother lost an appeal and that is how I became interested.
